Agriculuture 50% Ethiopia experiences favorable weather conditions leading to intensive agricultural practices within various diverse ecological zones. The government has embraced both small scale and large-scale farming leading to high production of livestock products and crop yields.
Food Processing  23% The popular food factory products are meat, butter, pasteurized milk, frozen food, fresh fruits, bakery products, sugar, and cheese. The food processing industry employs about one million people. The food processing industry is closely related to the Agriculture industry as most of its raw materials are farm produce.
Energy 10% The major gold mining areas are Kibre Mengist and Yubdo which are located south and west of Ethiopia respectively. On the other hand, tantalum mining takes place at the Kenticha mines in Oromia region. 
Construction 9.5% Most of the construction investment falls under the energy and infrastructure sector. Moreover, Ethiopia’s construction sector employs over 1.8 million people making it the second-largest operating segment.
Manufacturing   Ethiopia’s manufacturing sector has helped the economy by employing many people in consumer-ready products like furniture, woven fabrics, jewelry, footwear, baskets, utensils, pottery, farming, and construction products.
Toursim 5.5% The toursim sector is mainly dominated by private companies.

Agriculture 35% The sector comprises of crop production (industrial & food crops), horticulture, livestock, fisheries and forestry. Production of crops and horticulture contributes 76.5% of Agriculture GDP followed by livestock production at 4.9%.
Tourism    The sector has been growing fast as a result of various factors such as liberalization, persification of tourist markets and continued Government support.

Ugandan Industry

Tourism 10% The sector has employed over 600,000 people working either as tour guides, drivers, secretaries, translators, and security personnel among other jobs. It has also improved the livelihoods of the locals who sell beautifully hand-made African jewelry, clothes, hats, bags, and many other items.
Transport   Air transport in Uganda has also contributed immensely to the economy, especially the tourism industry. Motorcycles dominate the transport system of Uganda forming about 50% of all the transport services followed by passenger vehicles (buses, minibuses, and cars) at 30%, light good vehicles at 12%, heavy commercial vehicles at 6%, and agricultural tractors and the rest at 2%.
Fishing   The fishing industry is the second highest foreign exchange earner in the country after the tourism industry. The fishing sector employs over 700,000 people in fish related activities such as local and industrial fish processing, research and development, sale of fishing gears and equipment, builders of boats, weavers of fishing nets, and the actual traders involved in the fishing business.
Manufacturing 21%  Most of the manufacturing industries are foreign. Some factors that influence the location of these industries include; raw materials, fuel, and power, labor, markets, land, water, government influence, and transport. A good number of these industries require raw materials from agricultural products such as coffee, tea, nuts, dairy products, fruits, and vegetables.
Oil and Mining   Uganda has valuable minerals like tin, copper, gold, iron, cobalt, and even cement. These minerals are exploited for their economic value. A gold processing unit was established in Kampala in 2017 to ensure maximization of the profits earned from mining to improve the economic growth of the city.
